New Mexico MESA vision statement
New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, Inc. (NM MESA) prepares middle and high school students for college majors and careers in mathematics, engineering, science, and related fields. NM MESA supports programs throughout the state, in which students participate in activities such as field trips, speaker presentations, workshops, academic competitions, community service, and leadership development.

MESA Day
The NM MESA, Inc., Annual Statewide Math and Science MESA Day is designed to encourage the concept of problem-solving through teamwork. It salutes NM MESA students for their commitment to academic excellence and reinforces the NM MESA mission of preparing students from historically underrepresented ethnic groups for college majors and careers in math, engineering, and science. In keeping with our mission, advisors are encouraged to assemble teams that are representative of the ethnic and gender diversity of their school and MESA enrollment.
RHS Mesa participates in Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female, and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments and non-competitive events, incorporating Science Olympiad into the classroom curriculum, and attending teacher training institutes.
Loyalty awards NM MESA students graduating from an NM MESA High School are able to earn the Loyalty Award for their first year of college. The amount available for an NM MESA student to earn is up to $1000. The Loyalty Award consists of two levels, MESA Success ($500) and Einstein Bonus (up to an additional $500). The student must qualify for the MESA Success to earn the Einstein Bonus.
