Ruidoso School District provides blanket student accident and catastrophic insurance coverage for students participating in school-sponsored and school-supervised activities, including athletics.

This coverage helps ensure students have access to care if an injury occurs during a covered activity.

 

The witnessing school staff member should complete and sign Part A of the claim form. The form should then be given to the student’s parent or guardian. Myers-Stevens will work directly with the family to complete the claim process.

Parents/guardians will find instructions for completing Part B, including required documentation, signatures, claims office contact information, and guidance for medical providers.

 

Coverage applies to school-sponsored and school-supervised events, including interscholastic sports.

If the student does not have primary insurance, this coverage becomes the student’s primary accident coverage. If the student does have insurance, this coverage acts as secondary coverage and may help with co-pays and deductibles.

Parents/guardians may seek treatment from any licensed practitioner. Reimbursement may be made directly to the parent/guardian if paid out-of-pocket, or to the medical facility/provider if billed directly.

 While Ruidoso School District provides this blanket accident and catastrophic coverage, the district does not assume financial responsibility for any costs, charges, or expenses beyond those specifically covered under the terms of the policy. It is the sole responsibility of the student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to pay for any medical services, treatments, or related expenses that fall outside or exceed the scope of this coverage.
