Red Ribbon Week honors the fight against substance abuse

Ruidoso schools are celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a national celebration of increased awareness of the need for alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs. Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) is among the sponsors. Each year Ruidoso students are reminded during Red Ribbon Week to promote healthy lifestyles and educate others on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drug use. As a symbol of their dedication, Ruidoso Middle School students gathered to form a red ribbon on the RMS football field, shown here in a photo by the school’s health educator and SADD sponsor Tricia Jameson.
